Allianz UK Press release:
ALLIANZ CORNHILL ANNOUNCES SUCCESSFUL FIRST YEAR OF NEW PARTS SOURCING SYSTEM FOR MOTOR REPAIR NETWORK.
Allianz Cornhill is proud to announce the success of its new motor parts sourcing process ‘AudaSource’, which is expected to set the benchmark for the way parts are sourced by motor repairers in the future.
Last September Allianz Cornhill joined with claims solutions provider Audatex UK and aftermarket parts supplier SEL-Imperial to put in place an alternative parts programme with the aim of improving margins and productivity for Allianz Cornhill and its repair network.
At the heart of this ground-breaking programme is AudaSource, an automated parts procurement service developed by Audatex in association with e-commerce specialists Auto3P.
During the past year AudaSource has been used by Allianz Cornhill’s 190-strong repair network to identify and substitute quality alternative parts from the SEL-Imperial. This takes place as a seamless part of the Audatex estimating process. Importantly, there is no charge for this service to repairers and no change to standard estimating practice.
Repairers have benefited from significant additional profit on repairs, as well as reducing the time and cost associated with traditional procurement processes.
Philip Brailey, Allianz Cornhill’s motor damage supplier manager, said: “Allianz Cornhill has an established policy for the use of alternative parts which has been extremely successful in developing cost reduction for us, whilst increasing the parts profit element for our repairer partners.
“The introduction of AudaSource has taken this a step forward. It has helped repairers to identify and buy parts sourced from SEL-Imperial more effectively and also take unnecessary cost out of the process.
Paul Tucker, chief executive officer, Audatex UK, said: “Successful claims solutions are those that connect key parties in the supply chain and replace ineffective processes with seamless, automated and transparent systems. AudaSource is an example of such a solution. Allianz Cornhill were quick to see the opportunity. They were pioneers and their vision has benefited all.”
Michael Bourne of SEL-Imperial said: “The success of the programme has been down to the excellent working relationship between Allianz Cornhill, their regional engineers, the repairer network and the team here at SEL-Imperial.
“Much of the uncertainty over the use of alternative parts felt by repairers has been dispelled through the quality processes put in place by. This has been an exceptional example of how a successful alternative parts sourcing programme can deliver savings to both the insurer and the repairer, whilst maintaining high standards of repair and customer satisfaction.”
Marc Fossaluzza, managing director, M & S Accident Repairs Ltd, said: “As an approved Allianz Cornhill repairer for almost ten years, we have found that the innovation and openness consistently displayed by them adds value not only to themselves but very much their repairer partners.
“With the introduction of AudaSource a year ago we like many repairers had our doubts, but supported by Allianz Cornhill we gave it our best shot. Close monitoring for the first few months demonstrated that the extra profit opportunities became a reality. This has continued throughout the last 12 months with a positive impact on the bottom line.”

Press Release from UK AudaLink :
AudaSource - Enabled, allternative parts programme
Producing bottom line results for Allianz Cornhill repairers.
Allianz Cornhill, one of the largest general insurers in the UK, has joined with Audatex and aftermarket parts supplier SEL-Imperial to put in place an Alternative Parts Programme that is boosting profits and productivity for Allianz Cornhill and its repair network.
At the heart of this ground breaking programme is AudaSource, the automated parts procurement service developed by Audatex in partnership with e-commerce specialists Auto3P.
Launched in September 2005, the programme is now being used by Allianz Cornhill's 190-strong repair network and early feedback shows that an average saving in the region of £26 per job is being achieved.
Speaking at their recent Approved Repair Roadshow, Phil Brailey, Allianz Cornhill's Motor Damage Supplier Manager, commented:
"this is a bottom line saving that goes straight into the repairer's pocket. Taking cost out of the process is where the future lies and this programme is a great example of what Allianz Cornhill wants from its partners: innovation, passion, responsiveness and creativity, the same philosophy that we apply to our own business."
AudaSource identifies and subtitutes quality alternative parts from the SEL-Imperial catalogue in the line with rules pre-set by Allianz Cornhill. This takes place as seamless part of the AudaSource estimating process. Importantly, there there is no charge for this service to repairers and no change to standard estimating practice.
Paul Tucker, Audatex UK MD said:
"This is probably one of the best examples that we will see of taking a standard, prover process - estimating the cost of repair - and further unlocking potential by seamlessly integrating the time-consuming process of sourcing parts. We are delighted that Allianz Cornhull and SELL-Imperial have worked so closely with us on this programme and believe that it will set the benchmark for the way parts are sourced in the future"

Following extensive discussion with Audatex UK, Auto3P UK is delighted to announce a joint venture partnership with Audatex UK, the industry's leading Accident Damage Estimating system provider.
The move enables body shops to order the right part for the repair accurately, directly from the estimate, thus delivering efficiency gains and therefore savings for all participants of the Supply Chain.
Using additional products and services from Auto3P, the joint venture will ensure that insurance company or work provider mandates about the terms and conditions of parts usage are met, by applying a rules engine. This ensures repairer compliance with the agreed rules, without having to recall each set of rules every time an estimate is raised.
The provision of management information for use by participating clients is a key feature of the Program - which has been branded 'AudaSource'. In time, this will assist in predictive demand capability, and help eliminate parts shortages, which are extremely costly and disruptive when they occur.
A pilot for the 'AudaSource' product will be held in an insurance company, selected suppliers and body shops from April 2004 onwards. Full integration of the AudaSource system will be achieved at the time of the Enterprise roll out, (the replacement for the successful AudaWorkStation), in September 2004.
Both Audatex and Auto3P are confident of success and of widespread adoption of the system, greatly improving the way parts are routinely ordered in the industry.
Success in the UK will lead in due course to implementation of the program elsewhere.
